Founded by Howard Marzan, Port Macquarie Stingrays Basketball Club is all about developing core basketball skills and a love for the game that will last a lifetime.

Howard Marzan
Level 2 Association Coach
From the bustling courts of New York to the indoor stadiums of Port Macquarie, Howard’s love for basketball has never waned. What began as a childhood passion has evolved into a lifelong commitment to the game — a journey marked by dedication, leadership, and an unwavering drive to develop young athletes.
Howard plays an active role in the Port Macquarie Basketball Association, where he wears many hats. He currently coaches U14 Division 1 Girls representative team and leads the AAU Australia squads, including the North Coast Basketball Elite U14, U16, and U18 teams.

Beyond coaching, Howard contributes to the sport’s growth as Team Manager for the U16 NSW Country Boys team and as a 2024 PMBA Board Member.

Nicole Marzan
Level 1 Club Coach
Nicole started playing basketball when she was 8 years old and still continues to play to this day. She’s keen to grow basketball as a sport of choice for young girls in Port Macquarie and is dedicated to showing young girls how much fun basketball can be. She’s currently the coach for the Under 12’s Girls Port Macquarie Dolphins Rep Team.
Troy Lucas
Level 1 Club Coach
Troy has played multiple representative sports from early childhood and is a certified personal trainer.
Troy is a firm believer that team sport teaches children and young adults much more than physical fitness. Passionately working with kids through basketball to develop solid work ethic, leadership, community skills as well as how to take care of their bodies mentally and physically. Current coach for the Under 14s D2 women’s Port Macquarie Dolphins Basketball team, Troy is committed to building solid grassroot basketball development programs for all genders and inspiring the love through the community of a top sport.
Emillie Marshall
Level 1 Club Coach
Since the age of seven, Emilie has been deeply immersed in the world of basketball, her love for the sport only growing stronger over the years. Having been a consistent part of the Dolphins' representative teams from Under 12s to Under 16s, she has honed her skills to become a qualified Club Coach. Her journey also led Em to compete in 3x3 Basketball at a National level. Above all, her unwavering passion lies in giving back to the basketball community and inspiring young girls to embrace the sport, ensuring that basketball thrives in Port Macquarie.
